"Land ho!" he exclaims triumphantly. Quickly approaching shore, the shipmates prepare the skiffs to embark further on land. They move slowly through this unforgiving landscape, unsure what each new valley will bring. Summiting a grassy hilltop brought views in all directions, and for the first time the forest's mystery gave way to golden clarity. 

As we grow, our ottomans are no longer ships, and our couches are no longer islands. The thrill of adventure is absorbed through novels and movies. Then, kids arrive. They rekindle our imaginations and bring back the adventure. They bring us back to the forests and into the fields. They move our minds and shake our souls. They bring back the good in us, hoping that we see it more in the world.
